The German 1/8 Championship took place on Sept 8-11 on the circuit of the MCC-Rhein-Ahr with 88 drivers.
The first day of the event opened with rain, so the first two practice heats was cancelled because of the wet conditions. At midday we drove three heats under dry conditions. The ranking after day 1 was Tobias Hepp (XRAY RX8/ Orcan) ahead of Robert Pietsch and Philip Eberle, Uwe Baldes and Steven Cupyers.

Day 2 had begun like Day 1. It had rained overnight and the track was drying until noon. The track was dry at the second practice heats and then we could drive three more heats. The ranking after Day 2 was Steven Cupyers, Robert Pietsch, Frank Schewiola, Tobias Hepp and Michael Salven.
The weather forecast for Saturday said only âśgood.âť
Day 3 was a very hot day, up to 30 Celsius. There were five heats of 7 minutes. Everyone knew that the first and last heats were the fasted heats, because the track was much slower due to the high outdoor temperatures. The pole position was Steven Cupyers ahead of Tobias Hepp, Robert Pietsch and Lars Hoppe.

Day 4 Final Day:
The sky was very cloudy and all the weather forecast predicted rain. The first finals could be driven dry, but from the ? A there was a heavy thunderstorm and the Final was aborted after about 9 minutes. Previously Dominik Mayer (XRAY / Orcan) jumped into the semi-finals. Benjamin Schumann (XRAY/Orcan) missed the semi-final after a technical problem. Racing was halted in hope that the storm would stop, but it wouldnâ™t get any better and so the Race Director decided to cancel the Event for safety reasons.
